A big comeback for the Laurentians: Le Club d’Escalade. Climbing with the ladies on Friday evening is the best way to start the weekend!

This year, we are offering the Club in two formulas. The first, top-rope transition, is for those who have no experience in outdoor climbing and who want to learn the basic techniques. The second, self-rescue climbing, targets experienced climbers who wish to deepen their knowledge of maneuvers in an emergency situation on a wall. Two options, always in good company and the equipment is provided!

Option 1 – Outdoor top-roping: Discover climbing with the outdoor transition course

You will learn belay techniques and basic body movements used for outdoor climbing. You will learn how to make your own belays, belay at the top of the walls in order to access your anchors and more precisely, practice the concepts for rappelling.

This is the perfect time to come and challenge yourself or try something completely new, but in a safe and supervised environment on a wall designed for learning. No experience is required, just bring your smile and be ready for some fun!

Instructor: Amélie Toupin

Option 2 – Self-rescue: Validate and consolidate self-rescue techniques relative to complex situations.

You will learn techniques to use during complex and unforeseen situations. You will learn how to do rope ascent maneuvers and to aid a friend second in line or the first in line. You will learn how to make a release from the belay and much more!

This is the perfect opportunity to ask questions and solidify the techniques already learned. Lead climbing experience required.

Instructor: Andréanne Vallières
